You will learn about six main pattern hacking stages and receive a set of basic patterns for your future practice
Preparing for study
We will teach you how to understand silhouette and construction lines in garments, see ease allowances and silhouette shapes; you will learn about garment cuts and how fabric properties can affect your pattern hacking results. Additionally, you will find out what elements should not affect your basic pattern choice
Analyzing the garment design
Techniques described in this unit will help you achieve the best possible pattern hacking result
Choosing the right basic pattern and creating a flat sketch with no drawing skills
You will learn how to modify princess seams, design lines, closures, sleeve designs, drapings, bias-cut garments, asymmetry, and many more. 18 video lessons dedicated to pure practice will help you gain systemic knowledge. In total, we will break down over 90 elements
Manipulating the garment construction
You will see what it takes to create a garment design with pattern hacking, from beginning to end, and understand how to use these techniques for your future projects. You will be able to choose one of the course projects or practice hacking by using your own reference pictures
